Editing your content
There are two ways to get to the content editor – from the front end and from the administration area.
If you are logged-in and already on the front-end of your website go t0 the post that you wish to edit. Then simply click on ‘Edit Post’ in the top black bar. That will then take you to the content editor and display that post for you to edit. Once done, click the Update button in the Publish box.
To edit your posts from the administration area, simply click on Posts in the navigation menu to display all your posts in the main work area. Find the post that you wish to edit by either scrolling through the posts or, if you have a lot of posts, simply use the search posts facility at the top right of the work area.
When you have found the post, simply hover over the listing. This pops up a small menu just below the title.
Edit takes you to the Content Editor panel and you can then simply edit as you so wish. When you have finished in order for the changes to take place you must then click UPDATE in the Publish section on the right hand side.
Quick Edit. This allows you to edit the data of the post, such as title, category, post, publication date, status. This allows you to update quickly without the need to open the content editor.
Trash. When you wish to delete a post, click the Trash link. If you make a mistake and click this by accident, don’t panic! No posts are completely deleted but instead they are moved to the ‘Trash’ area where you can restore them. Whenever there is something in the trash it a link will appear towards the top of the work area.
View is self explanatory; click to view the post in the front-end of the website.
Bulk Actions. Just above the list of posts you have Bulk Actions. Edit brings up the Quick Edit box so that you can bulk edit selected posts (not the content!), for instance, when you have a lot of posts that you want to add to another new category. Trash sends the selected posts to the trash area. To select your posts simply click the small box to the left of the title.
Editing Categories & Tags
To edit your categories, click on Posts and then Categories, which appears in the sub-menu. Over in the work area a list of all your categories appears. When you hover over a category you will get the same sub-menu as with posts, ie Edit, Quick Edit, Trash and View. The only category you can not delete is the default Uncategorised category.
It’s exactly the same for editing your tags (if you are using them), simply click on Posts and then Tags. You then get the same sub-menu when hovering over any of the tags.
